The contents of a time capsule placed in the cornerstone of MUN’s St. John’s campus over 70 years ago will be unveiled today.
In 1952, as plans for a new campus started to take shape, members of the MUN community placed newspapers and a copy of The Muse inside of the time capsule with the aim of “preserving a snapshot of university life.”
With MUN celebrating its 100th anniversary, and The Muse celebrating its 75th, it has been decided that the capsule will be opened.
The event is taking place outside MUN’s Arts and Admin Building today at noon. VOCM News will be there.
