A serious collision on the Trans Canada near the Route 80 overpass at Whitbourne has resulted in a major traffic slowdown.

RCMP say traffic is moving slowly in both directions and drivers should expect significant delays as well as the possibility of future lane closures as crews respond to the scene.

RCMP are asking drivers to use caution and obey directions from police at the scene.

First responders expect to be on the scene for a “significant” amount of time.
