After 13 years, the last few licence plates beginning with the letter ‘J’ are being distributed by Motor Registration.
Plates are issued in alphabetical order, with the final few combinations of JZZ now being assigned to newly registered vehicles.
In a statement to VOCM News, the Department of Government Services says there are no plans to recycle any old plate numbers and will instead be assigning plates starting with the letter K.
Some letters are already assigned to specialty vehicles – like the letter G which is reserved for plates assigned to government.
Unlike other provinces, Motor Registration in NL does not allow drivers to customize their plate.
