For many, giving up their 9-5 and hitting the road to explore is a dream, but one couple has made it their reality – and it has lead them to an extended stay in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Alannah MacLean and Kyle Heddel gave up the traditional lifestyle to travel throughout North America full time in a Chevy Express van, and they are documenting it all on social media.
MacLean notes that they had never been in this province before but wanted to go and explore – and make a lengthy stay out of it.
She says they wanted to devote an entire summer to this province, so they said “we have the time, we have the wheels, let’s do this.”
The couple started their trek travelling throughout Labrador, and eventually moved to the island. They are currently on the Burin Peninsula.
Heddel says they will soon be heading back to St. John’s, and in a few weeks the plan is to take the ferry out of Port aux Basques back to the mainland.
However, the couple isn’t 100 per cent sure they’re ready to leave.
They say they have contemplated rebooking their ferry because things that they wish to do keep popping up.
