The 2026 Atlantic International Film Festival in Halifax next month will feature the world premieres of two locally-made documentaries.

Smash & Grab: The Rebel Lens of Mike Jones by Justin Simms, and Billy Gauthier: Carving the Future by Jennie Williams will be among the films featured at this year’s festival.

Simms’ documentary will be available online exclusively to residents of Atlantic Canada during the festival from September 23rd to the 27th.

Meanwhile, award-winning Labrador filmmaker Jennie Williams’ short film featuring the work of Inuk carver Billy Gauthier will have its world premiere at the festival.
