An advocacy group that had been pushing the provincial government to get a Churchill Falls deal done, says what was announced is good for Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Friends of Renewable Churchill Energy, or FORCE NL, is a coalition made up of students and young professionals.
Chair Ben Oates says the new deal is a “good deal” that was built on the “strong foundation” of the 2024 MOU.
Oates is pleased to see the provincial government acknowledge the “urgency” of getting the deal done, noting the deal isn’t out of the woods yet with a Quebec election looming.
