Provincial NDP Leader Jim Dinn says he would rather see American alcohol kept off NLC shelves, stating a bottle of U.S. liquor will not see the inside of his home as long as Donald Trump is President.
Dinn says while he understands Premier Tony Wakeham’s decision to go along with Ottawa on the matter, he would fully support the Premier if he chose to keep the ban in place.
“I would rather see all the shelves… But in the interest that, if you follow the negotiations, there’s no clear path, and I understand the difficulty of this situation,” he told reporters.
“But I will tell you, my feelings are, I will not be buying. At the same time, I suspect there will still be a lot of American alcohol left on the shelves, because I’d say a lot of people, based on the comments I’ve got, are not going to be buying it.”
