A 20-year-old ATV driver has been charged after speeding away instead of stopping for police early Sunday morning.
Clarenville RCMP say officers conducting proactive patrols in the Shoal Harbour area attempted to stop a group of ATV users around 1:00 a.m.
Officers noticed one of the drivers performing a stunt and refused to pull over.
The suspect was found nearby and he was arrested and charged with flight from police and dangerous driving.
He was released to appear in court and his machine was seized.
