A New York Congressman is among a growing number of American legislators speaking out about the trade war between Canada and the United States.
Congressman Timothy Kennedy says if U.S. President Donald Trump “spent half as much time” trying to make life more affordable for Americans “as he does trying to rename bodies of water,” working families might be able to afford groceries, rent, and power bills.
Kennedy calls Trump’s proposal to rename Lake Ontario Lake America “pathetic” and calls him a “petty, vindictive, failed president.”
Kennedy calls Canada New York’s largest trading partner and strongest ally and says by declaring economic war on Canada, President Trump is also waging war on border communities like western New York state.
