Canadian actor Jonathan Torrens is continuing his tour of the province this afternoon with a stop at the NLC to promote his new Canadian whisky, Keepers.
The actor—best known for his role as “J-Roc” on Trailer Park Boys and for hosting Street Cents and Jonovision—saw his product hit NLC shelves earlier this month.
Torrens says because the spirit is bottled right here in Newfoundland and Labrador, he wanted to debut it here first before taking it across the country.
“It was actually released first three years ago and now we’re back with a new team behind it, a new gust of wind. But it’s the same delicious whisky and best of all, it’s bottled right here in Newfoundland and Labrador,” he told VOCM News.
“We love our relationship with Newfoundland Manufacturing. It’s really exciting, the idea of bringing this product to market here first. The sun rises here first in the country. I feel like Keepers should get tasted here first. So we started in Corner Brook yesterday, drove across the island, stopped in a whole bunch of spots.”
Torrens will be at the NLC at Howley Estates today from 2-5 p.m..
