Ministers responsible for internal trade met in Nunavut this week to work on ways to knock down interprovincial trade barriers.
Finance Minister Craig Pardy was in attendance.
The provincial government says the ministers agreed to get moving on reaching an agreement in principle by the end of this fall on mutual recognition legislation on market and labour mobility.
Among the items ministers addressed were the ratification of amendments to the Canada Free Trade Agreement to strengthen labour mobility, establishing online digital registries for tradespersons in each jurisdiction, the expansion of mutual recognition services, and moving forward with harmonization of construction code standards.
