A public review is now underway as part of the environmental assessment process into the proposed extension of the fluorspar mine in St. Lawrence.

The project is expected to extend the life of the current mine by another ten years.
Canada Fluorspar says the proposed extension is driven by growing global demand for fluorspar which has been recognized as a critical mineral essential to clean technologies by the federal government.
The satellite pit would operate as a hub-and-spoke extension of the existing AGS Mine and no new processing or tailing facilities are anticipated.
The company will make sue of existing haul roads, the existing plant and the Blue Beach Marine Terminal for transportation and processing.
The public is being invited to review various guidelines associated with the proposed project and provide written comments by October 3.
