The landfill for the metro region was a busy place last year.

While Robin Hood Bay is free for residential use, commercial operators have to pay a tipping fee. Those fees amounted to almost $1.8-million more in revenue than the owner of the site, the City of St. John’s, had estimated.

City council says revenue from the landfill goes directly back into the operation of it, and not to normal city operations.
