RCMP removed an impaired driver from the road after receiving calls about someone driving dangerously on the Trans Canada Wednesday night.
Police received several calls about someone speeding and driving erratically around 7:30 Wednesday evening.
Patrols were established and radar captured the described vehicle travelling at speeds of up to 170 km/h.
Officers caught up with the vehicle in question just as it pulled into the parking lot of a business in Whitbourne.
The driver was identified as 36-year-old Stephen Cecil Miller of Torbay whose licence was already suspended.
He’s been charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, driving while suspended, failing to comply with a release order, excessive speed, driving without valid insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle.
He was held to appear in court.
