NL Health Services says plumbing “deficiencies” are to blame for what’s being called a “massive” tear-up at the new ER at the Health Sciences Centre.
NAPE President Jerry Earle first brought the issue to light early last month, noting that significant repairs were required at the site.
(VOCM News)The health authority has since indicated that work has to be done on the sewage lines in the facility’s bathrooms.
CEO Ron Johnson says the repairs are ongoing, but he doesn’t have a specific timeline for completion.
“Yeah, so this (happened when) we opened up the new ER, and there were some deficiencies in the plumbing infrastructure after we opened.
“I understand that’s being worked on now, and hopefully that’ll be taken care of.”
