The College of Physicians and Surgeons recently accepted the guilty plea of a St. John’s OB/Gyn who agreed that she had failed to respond appropriately and in a sufficiently timely manner in a medical emergency that ultimately claimed the life of a newborn child.
In a summary of adjudication released online in July, the Tribunal accepted a joint submission on sanction of Dr. Colleen Cook.
It ordered that Dr. Cook be reprimanded by the Tribunal for her conduct, that she complete, at her own cost, continuing professional development, and that she pay the costs of the College’s investigation and hearing.
A summary of the tribunal’s decision can be found here.
