An internationally-recognized researcher will offer some insight into the role that gut bacteria plays in helping to manage obesity, diabetes and other chronic diseases in a free lecture this week.
Registered dietitian and professor in the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Kinesiology and Department of Biochemistry, Dr. Raylene Reimer will discuss the effect of medications, exercise and antibiotics on the body’s microbiome.
‘Feed Your Friends: Nutrition and Gut Bacteria for Health’ will highlight how the bacteria in your intestinal tract develops and how important it is in shaping a person’s overall health.
The talk is scheduled for this Tuesday at 7:00 at the Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation.
