A 32-year-old man has been charged after a frightening incident in Corner Brook yesterday afternoon in which a businessman was attacked and stabbed near the Valley Mall.
RNC were called around 5:30 and the victim, a 37-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious stab wounds.
The suspect fled on foot before police arrived, but Gregg Musakanda was tracked down and arrested in the Valley Road area around 7:00 last night.
Musakanda appeared in court today on charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguise with intent and break and enter.
Victim Doug Payne says he suffered a number of wounds including one to his neck, his shoulder and his side, but he’s recovering.
RNC have released an image of a man who was seen dressed all in black with his face obscured in hopes of establishing a timeline of events leading up to the attack.
Police are appealing for any information or video footage of the man captured in the image and are asking anyone with information to call 709-637-4100.
