There’s been a recall issued on some frozen raspberries sold in this province.
Alasko brand frozen raspberries sold in the 1kg bag have been hauled off store shelves after being linked to norovirus.
The stomach bug often comes on quickly within the first 12 to 48 hours after consuming a contaminated product. Symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps, a low-grade fever and headache.
Most who contract norovirus are usually on the mend within a day or so and do not require medical treatment, however in some cases, one can become severely dehydrated to the point where a trip to the doctor is necessary.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises anyone who has purchased the product to either throw it away or return to the store for a refund.
