A major police operation in Torbay yesterday was prompted by a weapons complaint that resulted in injuries to a woman.
Twenty-five-year-old Jesse Butt of Paradise was arrested and charged with weapons offences as a result.
RNC received a report yesterday from Motion Drive about a woman who had been assaulted a day earlier, resulting in injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Police surrounded the property yesterday, joined by the RNC’s Tactics and Rescue Unit, and the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team.
Two people came out of the home in question without incident.
A search warrant resulted in the seizure of two long guns and some ammunition.
Butt was held for court on charges of assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using a firearm in the commission of an offence and uttering threats.
RNC say more charges are possible.
