Over 80 tickets were doled out over the course of an afternoon as RCMP and RNC teamed up to crack down on speeding drivers on the Avalon.
On Tuesday afternoon, officers set up along the Trans-Canada Highway near Butter Pot Park to keep an eye out for drivers breaking the rules of the road.

The RCMP says seven vehicles were seized, and over 80 charges laid—ranging from speeding to registration and insurance violations.
Six drivers were caught driving between 151 km/h and 173 km/h, and were each fined $520. Their licences were suspended and vehicles impounded.
Meanwhile, another driver has handed a $2,600 ticket and lost their vehicle after police discovered that they were driving without insurance.
