A ‘Plague Doctors walk’ in Carbonear last week has been hailed as a success, and organizers already have their eyes set on next year’s event.
The walk involves participants dressing in costumes inspired by personal protective equipment worn by doctors in the 1600s.
The event was inspired by a similar event held in St. John’s a few weeks ago, and was organized by Route 66 Diner and Pub.

In a post to Facebook, organizer Pauline Yetman praised the success of the walk, noting that participants were met with lots of support along the sidewalks and from those watching from their cars.
She says they are looking forward to doing it again next year and making it “bigger and better.”
