Traffic is now flowing on the Back Line between Ruby Line and Viguers Rd. in the Goulds. It was stalled for a time this afternoon as the St. John’s Regional Fire Department knocked down a garage fire.
The 20 x 40 detached garage was a total loss and Acting Platoon Chief Charlie Quick says they had to bring in a tanker truck to help as water supply in the area was an issue. The wind acted in the firefighter’s favour as the flames, smoke and heat were blown away from a home and a large barn on the property.
