A 20-year-old driver is facing serious charges after an attempt to evade a traffic stop ended in a crash with two parked vehicles.
The series of events unfolded early Saturday morning when RNC attempted to pull over a vehicle on Topsail Road in Paradise.
The driver reportedly refused to stop and hit the gas instead. Officers lost sight of the vehicle in question when it pulled onto the area of Carlisle Drive.
Minutes later, police were informed of a collision on Carlisle.
Officers arrived to find that the suspect vehicle had collided with two parked vehicles and damaged a nearby house.
Police arrested the 20-year-old driver and charged him with flight from police, dangerous driving, and impaired driving after he refused to provide a breath sample.
He was held in custody pending a court appearance.
