A Pouch Cove woman thought she had a shark on the line when she pulled in a monster catch during the food fishery this weekend.

Holly Noseworthy set a personal best with a 47 lb cod she caught off Cape St Francis Saturday.

But its not the size of the fish that made Noseworthy the most proud. She says that if she receives any attention it should be for pulling the catch in herself and not the fish’s size.

That same evening Noseworthy had a fish fry. One fillet was able to feed five mouths.

The rest she says is waiting in her freezer.
