A resident of Botwood is warning others about a recent bear sighting in the town.
A caller to the VOCM Newsroom says he saw a fairly large bear in the area of Wireless Road. He’s urging people to take precautions to protect their family and pets, in case the bear lingers.
If you encounter a bear, back away but do not run. Give the animal plenty of space to leave.
Any sightings should be reported to the nearest wildlife office.
