A man from the UK is facing a list of charges after he was removed from an American Airlines flight in Happy Valley-Goose Bay yesterday.
31-year-old Edward John A. Myhill of London, England is facing serious charges under both the Criminal Code and the Aeronautics Act.
They include assault and threats against a flight attendant and engaging in activity endangering the safety of a flight or persons on board.
Under the Criminal Code
- Section 266 Assault – flight attendant
- Section.264.1 Threats – flight attendant
- Section 430(3) Mischief
Under the Aeronautics Act
- Section 7.41(1A) Engaged in activity which endangered safety of a flight or persons on board
- Section 7.41(1B) Engaged in activity which endangered the safety of a flight or persons on board by lessening the flight crew’s ability to perform their duties
The flight was en route from London Heathrow to Chicago and had to divert to Happy Valley-Goose Bay were RCMP were called.
