A case of delinquent dialect or just a stencil mishap has been covered up at a new drive through near St. John’s Airport.
The new set up on the World Parkway contained signage suggesting the route was in fact a “drive true.”
The issue blew up on social media after Tony Moores snapped a picture of the “drive true” while getting a coffee.
So I was the only one in the car and driving and couldn’t snap a picture
But they’ve painted the lines at the Tim’s/Subway by the airport and I swear to god it says “DRIVE TRUE”
I am chugging this coffee and going back

On Twitter, many people supported keeping the paint in place, including comedian Mark Critch, who suggested naming it a provincial historic site.
This should become a provincial historic site and should never be painted over #nlpoli #nltraffic https://t.co/Vi8Wv6SXfn

The fast food service, accessing a Subway and Tim Hortons, had not yet opened according to management, who weren’t aware of the issue until it was brought to their attention by VOCM News.
However, Moores posted another photo this afternoon showing the “trues” covered with black spray paint.
Bad news everyone
I appear to have ruined it
