A 47-year-old, taken to hospital early Tuesday morning following a violent altercation on Cookstown Road, is listed in critical condition.

RNC came across the scene shortly after midnight on Tuesday while responding to another call.

Two St. John’s men, 46-year-old Anthony J. Ryan and 48-year-old William Ryan, are both facing charges of aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm.

According to the charges, the weapon used was a golf club. Both of the accused live at the same residence on Cookstown Road.

The pair are due back in St. John’s Provincial Court tomorrow morning for a bail hearing.
