Usually, the spirit of giving during the holidays helps to fill space under the Christmas tree, but for one Botwood mother that spirit this year focused on filling her son’s stomach.
Tracey Gill’s son, Jacob, was diagnosed with autism at two years old. Now 22, Jacob is non-verbal and will only eat certain kinds of foods. One of those items is Shake n’ Bake BBQ chicken.
After an extended period of not being able to find the item, Gill posted on social media hoping she would be able to get some from people in the town.
The response she received exceeded all expectations.
She received messages from all over the province, across Canada, and even down in the United States from people wanting to help.
Gill says that kindness paid off, and has received about 50 boxes so far.
