The president of Memorial University says she’s eager to get back to a greater sense of normalcy after two semesters of limited in-person instruction.
Vianne Timmons says they will take a measured approach, based on public health guidelines, in eventually resuming regular activities on campus.
For now, most in-class instruction is canceled for the spring semester with professors providing lectures and lessons online.
Timmons says while online learning has been filling the gap, the university experience is about so much more than learning in a classroom.
She says there’s something about the energy of being on campus and part of the conversations that are had in the hallways and corridors. That’s the kind of thing students miss the most says Timmons.
