The big drive is on to “Block the Bus” with school supplies as summer vacation for students winds down.
The “Block the Bus” campaign put a push on at Piper’s on Elizabeth Avenue Friday afternoon. School supplies can still be dropped off on location at Pipers for the remainder of the weekend.
The campaign is an initiative of Bridges to Hope, Pipers, Metrobus and VOCM Cares.
Tara Haley of VOCM Cares says they’re looking for a number of items including math kits, markers, coil exercise books and packs of four exercise books.
She says they’re hoping to block the Metrobus with school supplies.
A Metrobus was on site from 2:00p.m. to 5:30p.m. on Friday.
