A 29-year-old St. John’s man is in custody, accused in connection to multiple violent assaults against women, including one from Ontario.
Kevin Terry Evans was arrested by the RNC on Wednesday. He’s accused of assaulting a woman in St. John’s on August 9, and the same woman again on August 11.
Back in May, Evans was arrested for assaulting another woman in St. John’s. In that case he was charged with three counts of assault, and two counts of choking or strangling the woman. Those charges date back to 2018.
However, Evans was not brought into custody by police in May, rather, just given a court date and a promise to appear.

At the time, Kevin Terry Evans was released from custody in Ontario, where he’s facing eight counts of assault, assault with a weapon, sexual assault and distributing an intimate image. Two ex-girlfriends are named as the victims in those charges, all from 2017.
Today, Evans was scheduled to go to a bail hearing. The Crown opposed Evan’s release, and he consented to remand. He’s due back in court next week.
