Easter Seals NL is hoping to be back in their Mount Scio Road building by October after flooding last month forced them out.
A pipe burst in the female washroom in early July, causing flooding throughout the building. Water damaged everything from equipment in the music room to the computer room.
They had to move their day camp to Macdonald Drive Junior High and find temporary office space.
The estimated cost of repairs is $50,000, but they’re already half way to that fundraising goal.
Manager of Fund Development and Communications, Samantha Parrell, says they have raised $25,000 so far, and are continuing efforts with their fourth annual golf tournament at The Wilds.
The money raised will be split between the building’s recovery and the programs they run.
