All four health authorities in the province have implemented visitor restrictions at all health care and long-term care facilities in accordance with Alert Level 5 restrictions.
Until further notice, all in-person visits to people on hospital wards and long-term care are suspended until further notice.
There are several exceptions.
Children may have both parents or guardians as support persons. However, only one support person can be present at a time.
Labour and delivery patients can have their significant other present during delivery, and for up to four hours when they are moved to the post-partum bonding.
As well, a support person may be designated in exceptional circumstances.
Circumstances surrounding end of life situations will be discussed on a case-by-case basis with the health authority.
