A 47-year-old man assaulted on Cookstown Road early last week remains in hospital in critical condition today.

That from the RNC. Police came across the scene shortly after midnight on August 13 while responding to another call.

Two brothers were arrested and charged in connection to the assault. Forty-six-year-old Anthony J. Ryan and 48-year-old William Ryan are accused of one count each of aggravated assault and assault causing bodily harm.

Both live at the same residence on Cookstown Road.

William Ryan has consented to remand until his charges are dealt with. Anthony Ryan is due back in court on Friday for a bail hearing.
