The Royal Newfoundland Regiment and Garrison St. John’s will dedicate a military classroom at the Garrison in recognition of the efforts of students at a primary school in the UK.
Since 2003, students at Beatrix Potter primary school in London have conducted twice-annual remembrance services and placed poppies on the graves of Regimental soldiers who are buried in Wandsworth Cemetery next to the school.
Last year, students and faculty from Beatrix Potter school visited the province, participating in a number of commemorative events, including the annual Memorial Day parade.
On Friday the Regiment, and Garrison St. John’s will unveil a commemorative plaque and storyboards in St. John’s. The ceremony is happening in Pleasantville.
