For the first time in almost a year, they’re in the powder on the west coast. Never in their wildest did management at Marble Mountain think they would be starting the ski season in March, but that is the situation.
Marble opened at 9:00 this morning in ideal snow conditions.
Richard Wells, operations manager, says the Day Lodge is the only indoor facility open to the public but with all the COVID protocols. Skiers on the slopes will have to be mindful of the COVID operating protocols too.
In all lineups on the hill, people will have to wear masks. Chairlift guidelines are like this: Live together, ride together. Bubbles and families are recommended and solos ride single.
As per Marble Mountains Facebook Page:
- Lift tickets must be pre-purchased online the day before via the booking portal on Skimarble.com and can be picked up the day of at our newly installed outdoor ticket windows located between buildings one and two. Day tickets and Season Passes must be visible at all times. Passes will be checked at the base of the Lift.
- We will be open five days per week, Thursday to Monday with first chair at 9am and last chair at 5pm for the remainder of the season. The day lodge will only be open for bathroom purposes at this time. All other services will be temporarily suspended, this includes Snow School, Rentals, Repair, Food and Beverage departments. We aim to bring back services next week or as alert levels and Public Health restrictions ease.
- Masks are always mandatory while inside the day lodge. Please bring a clean mask for entering the building and use a separate one for outside on the slopes. Masks are also mandatory within the base area, in all queuing lines, while riding the chairlift and using the Magic Carpets.
- Patrons must sign in for contact tracing purposes when entering the day lodge. Capacity inside will be limited to 50 people at one time. Please carry a clean facemask for indoor purposes.
We recommend packing a lunch and using your own vehicle as a private gear storage, warm up and lunch locations. There will be no daily gear storage permitted inside the day lodge at this time. - The mountain is good shape and we have got all-terrain open for your skiing and riding pleasure. Please note that some terrain may unmarked rocks and obstacles and may be considered marginal conditions as the day progresses. Please respect all signs posted by Ski Patrol and to ski and ride with care!
- Chairlift guidelines are simple, live together means ride together. Families and bubble riders are recommended. The chairlift coral lineup may appear longer than normal and will allow for one four-person bubble lineup and one single line. Singles will ride the chair solo. Access to the East side will be via the Up Along. Country Road will be groomed. For a complete list of groomed runs please go to Skimarble.com
