The Tories are calling for more vaccination sites in the province to reduce winter travel, especially by seniors.
The PCs point to the clinic in St. Alban’s, which they say is fully functioning and staffed but isn’t being used for vaccinations.
Instead, residents have to make the 100 kilometre trip to Harbour Breton, which the Tories say many seniors are refusing to do given the dangerous highway conditions.
They say it raises the question of whether St. Alban’s is on the chopping block when it comes to the Greene report and efforts to seek efficiencies throughout the health care system.
The Tories are seeking answers as to why St. Alban’s isn’t currently being used as a vaccination site.
