Bay St. Georges RCMP arrested a snowmobiler for impaired driving in Lordes late Friday night.
Shortly before 10 p.m., police attempted to stop a snowmobile traveling on the Main Road in the community, but the driver fled the scene. An item fell off the machine and the man returned to retrieve it.
Aloysius Young showed signs of alcohol impairment, failed a roadside breath test, and was then arrested for impaired driving. Young was taken to the detachment where he blew twice the legal limit.
Young has two previous impaired driving convictions from 2017 and 2020. He is prohibited driving any type of motor vehicle anywhere in Canada.
He was released following a virtual court appearance today. He is due back in court on March 22. He is charged with impaired driving, flight from police, and driving while prohibited.
