A new survey by the Angus Reid Institute suggests that Canadians are becoming more eager to be inoculated against COVID-19 as more is learned about the efficacy of the vaccination.
The latest numbers indicate that Canadians are growing more interested in rolling up their sleeves as soon as they become eligible for the shot.
Of those asked, 66 per cent of respondents said they would get the vaccine immediately—up six percentage points from the start of the year.
That mirrors the decrease in the number of people who are willing but would rather wait—down some seven points in the same time frame.
Only 12 per cent of those asked stated they are not interested at all.
Meanwhile, there has been a decline in the number of people concerned with personally falling ill due to the virus. 62 per cent of respondents stated that they were ‘totally concerned,’ down almost 10 points from early January.
The survey was conducted between March 1 and 4 among a sampling of over 1,700 members of the Angus Reid Forum. For comparative use, it suggests the margin of error is +/- 2.3 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
