Home support workers can now pre-register for the COVID vaccine.
Public Health is asking home support workers to indicate when pre-registering, whether they are employed by a client of the provincial home support program, or by an agency.
A toll-free number has been set up for people who do not have internet access. Those looking to pre-register can call 1-833-668-3930.
Meanwhile, Pubic Health is encouraging all clinically vulnerable cancer patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy, to get the COVID vaccine as soon as one is available for them.
Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says she is encouraged by the interest in the desire to get vaccinated. Public Health will announce when pre-registration is open for more groups listed in Phase 2 of the vaccine roll-out plan.
