Kids are heading back to school in just over a week and while it’s an exciting time for many, for others it may cause anxiety.
Psychologist, Dr. Janine Hubbard says it’s important to talk with your child and find out what their fears might be.
She advises parents not to minimize their children’s fears, hear them out and help them problem-solve.
When it comes to bullying in school, that’s another matter. Dr. Hubbard says keep an open line of communication with your child’s teacher and school.
She advises that you make sure the new classroom teacher is aware of past problems so they can stay on top of them before they escalate…and keep in regular contact with the school.)
