VOCM Cares is stepping up to the plate to help the Victoria Park Community Renewal project slide home.

This Saturday the park with feature the first ever Duey Fitzgerald Slo-Pitch Softball Tournament, and VOCM Cares is in the game.

VOCM’s Greg Smith and Jolene Grimes, as well as Allan Hawco, Mark Critch and St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen will be among the players taking the field.

Tara Haley of VOCM Cares says they’re fielding a team, and hope to have a lot of fun as well as support a great cause.

She says Victoria Park is such a historic focal point for the city, and VOCM Cares is excited to support the rejuvenation of the park, making it a safe, accessible public space for years to come.

The games begin at 8:00 am Saturday. and run through the afternoon.
