The leader of the PC Party has written the Clerk of the Executive Council in an attempt to have copies of the modelling documents used by the Premier to call an election released to the public.
Ches Crosbie was denied an ATIPP request for the information on the grounds that they are protected by cabinet confidentiality.
Crosbie suggests that objection is groundless. He says the Clerk of the Executive Council, Gary Norris, has the authority to release information if the disclosure is in the public interest.
Premier Furey says the Associate Dean for Clinical Research at Memorial University, Dr. Proton Rahman, has said publicly that no one could have predicted the outbreak to occur as it did.
