First responders in the Eastern Health region started receiving their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine today.
The AstraZeneca product has been earmarked for first responders with about 7,000 doses being received in the province to date.
The entire process of the nurse preparing the vaccine, giving Dean Foley his shot, and the nurse going through the post vaccine protocol (side effects, etc) only took a couple of minutes @VOCMNEWS pic.twitter.com/UKKn4AXa6g

St. John’s Regional Fire Department Platoon Chief Dean Foley was one of the first to receive the shot at the vaccination Clinic on Mundy Pond Road in St. John’s.
He calls it a great day and says he couldn’t even feel the shot going in.
Foley advocates for everyone to get vaccinated.
