Some sporting organizations are raising serious questions on learning that a return-to-play may not be in the cards for some time to come.
Pat Yetman owns Yetman’s Arena and operates the Yetman’s Hockey Program in the capital city.
He understands concerns about the variant and how easily it spreads, but he wonders how officials are monitoring people entering the province to ensure they’re following public health guidelines regarding self-isolation.
He says there is too much trust being placed on the fact that people entering the province aren’t interacting with household members within their 14 day isolation period. “That’s a lot of willpower to control,” Yetman believes.
In the meantime, Yetman will put together a return-to-play program but admits that’s a difficult task knowing just how easily the variant can spread.
