The Town of Paradise is looking at adding a postal option for voters in the fall municipal elections.
Mail-in balloting has taken on a different twist these days with all kinds of problems being experienced in the provincial election. Paradise says it is watching that process closely as it works toward a hybrid model to allow for both mail-in and in-person voting.
Mayor Dan Bobbett says the government department which oversees municipalities has approved the town’s initial request. It is now working on finalizing the voting model.
He says reaction among the public is mixed but some of the data they have looked at shows that more people will vote if given an option to mail their ballots.
