A 72-year-old Northern Peninsula man was located safe and sound after spending nearly two nights in the woods last week.
Roddickton RCMP received a report Friday afternoon that a man had failed to return to his home in Conche the night before after what was supposed to be a one-hour snowmobile trip.
Volunteers with the Long Range Search and Rescue were called out and a Cormorant from the 103 Search and Rescue Squadron was called out to launch an air search.
The man was located around 10:30 that night about seven kilometres outside Conche by members of the Long Range Search and Rescue.
It turns out the man’s snowmobile had become stuck and he was unable to free the machine.
