PC leader Ches Crosbie is calling the situation an “outrage and an insult to the public” after four people were allowed to register their vote by phone only to learn that it is not legally authorized.
Crosbie says this has been an election in which “tens of thousands” of people have been denied the right to vote, and now some people have been given a “special privilege” by being allowed to vote by phone.
He is calling on Premier Andrew Furey to speak to the issue.
He says we need to see that the Premier is in charge when the election “disintegrates into this kind of a mess.”
As for potentially taking the election results to court, Crosbie is not giving any indication as to what course of action the party could take.
He says that decision will have to wait until the results are released, but claims there is a lot that could be disputed in court.
